Indoor air can be 2-5 times, even up to 100 times, more polluted than outdoor air. Poor air quality impacts everyone, it’s important to ensure the air we breathe indoors is as healthy as it can be.

The air we breathe is filled with lots of things including gases and particles – most are too small to see with the naked eye. These particles can include things like dust, smoke, diesel emissions, pollen, pet dander, bacterial growth spores, and more.

Health effects from poor indoor air quality might include short-term symptoms like headaches, eye, nose, and throat inflammation, coughing and painful breathing, bronchitis, and skin irritation.

Young children, older adults, and people with existing lung disease are most at risk of negative health effects from poor indoor air quality.
